Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek

The Poon Hill trek is unsurpassed for the geographical and cultural diversity it offers.The trail takes us from lowland Hindu villages to the remote plateaus of Manang and Mustang, dominated by Tibetan communities.

Itinerary at glance

Day 0: Arrive in Kathmandu Airport pick up and transfer to hotel.

Day 1: Drive to Pokhara. Stay at guest house.

Day 2: Drive two hours to Nayapul, altitude 1010m. Trek six hours to Ulleri, altitude 1960m.

Day 3: Trek five hours to Ghorepani, altitude 2860m. Stay overnight at guest house or camp.

Day 4: Trek one hour to Poon Hill view point before breakfast, altitude 3200m. After breakfast trek five hours to Tadapani, altitude 2630m.

Day 5: Trek six hours to Landruk, altitude 1565m. Stay at guest house or camp.

Day 6: Trek six hours to Nayapul and drive two hours to Pokhara, stay at hotel/guest house.

Day 7: Drive 6/7 hours to Kathmandu with tourist bus or take a 25minute flight, or continue to your final destination.

Suggested Backpack :

  • Personal belongings (i.e.camera, water bottle, extra money, sunscreen/sunblock, sunglasses, sunhat, hiking shorts/ synthetic T-shirt etc)
  • Hiking boots, camp shoe/sports shoe/ trainers, 3 to 4 pairs woolen socks,2 pairs liners socks, 1 liner gloves & 1 pair mitten, warm hat.
  • 1 Day back pack 35 -50 ltr capacity.
  • Warm layers, down or synthetic jackets, fleece, hiking pants, Thermals.

Most of the items can buy or rent in kathmandu.

This trip can be combined with Annapurna Base Camp trek, two-nights ,three-days rafting at the Kali Gandaki River.
